Pastor Doug Opp
Pastor Doug accepted a call to serve Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in July of 2010 and began serving the congregation in August. He was born and raised in western North Dakota where most of his extended family continues to reside. After graduating from Glen Ullin High School he joined the U.S. Navy and served primarily in the Pacific region, in particular the west coast and eastern Asia. Home ports included Sasebo, Japan, San Diego, San Francisco, and Alameda California.
Pastor Doug graduated from the Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Nebraska, with a Bachelor of Arts degree, and from the Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley, California, with a Master’s of Divinity degree. He has served congregations in Concord California, Villisca Iowa, Cushing Iowa, Jamestown North Dakota, Geneva Illinois and Audubon Iowa.
Pastor Doug and his wife Julie of 35 years have three children; sons Jeremy, and Josh with his wife Jen and their sons (our grandsons), Caden and Calvin, and a daughter Danae with her husband Matt and their son (our grandson), Oliver. Pastor Doug’s hobbies include: walking, biking, hiking, football, baseball, basketball, reading, camping, fishing and traveling.
