Consecration Sunday is October 8th. Every year, the second Sunday of October, the faith family of OSLC sets aside a special Sunday to thank God for his daily provision and to publically bring to the altar of our Lord our next year’s offering pledge. We do not make this commitment because the church needs to pay its bills, for we know full well that God will take care of our need. Instead, we deliberately set aside a portion of our income so that we can be intentional givers rather than accidental givers. You and I are baptized children of God, saved by His grace, freed to serve Him in daily life and called to a commitment in Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior. Consecration Sunday is a Stewardship Sunday. Christian stewardship is the free and joyous activity of the child of God, and God’s family the church, in managing all of life and life’s blessings/resources, for God’s purposes. This October newsletter includes a commitment card and additional information to help you prayerfully consider making an offering pledge for the year 2018. If you have questions please contact Pam, our office manager, Pastor Doug or a stewardship committee member, Dan Jorgensen, Dan Madsen, Dan Smith, Frank Olsen, Nancy Olsen, & Matt Heller.
The annual Audubon County CROP Hunger Walk will be held on Sunday, October 8th at 2:00 p.m. meeting at Albert the Bull Park.
CROP stands for “Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty” and supports hunger-fighting work here in Audubon County and around the world.
Contact the church office or “The Rock” Youth Leaders Nate Vorm, Tracie Christensen or Sara Slater if you would like to be a walker. The Rock Youth Group, Confirmation students and many others from OSLC will be participating in the walk and they would love to receive a donation from you! Donations may also be left in the container on the table by the coat area or in the church office.
October is Clergy Appreciation month and it is a wonderful opportunity for us to thank Pastor Doug and Julie for their ministry here at Our Saviour’s!
